Spaghetti Bridge Challenge Project Report

1. The part that I found the most rewarding would be when our bridge held enough weight.
2. I could say the bottom was the whole support of the bridge.
3. Well the bridge we built it was quite the same as we drew. If I would have the opportunity to make some refine designs will be to put more support in the bottom, all the weight goes to that specific area.
4. I would say to have a clue of that they are going to do, look up on internet, how can you build a strong bridge or some suggestions and the important part make it on time.

The Spaghetti Bridge Challenge Project

1. The design we are going to use is triangles, the part of the top would be the strongest part and the bottom it is just to support the weight.
2. We are still working on the construction but we are changing the bottom and starting to make the triangles and thus be able to finish everything on time

WebQuest

1.
-Average speed is a measure of the distance traveled in a given period of time.
-Instantaneous Speed: the speed at any given instant in time
If you're looking the speedometer in the car it's instantaneous velocity.
2.
d=v*t        d= 10m/s * 30s
                 d= 300 meters.
3.
-Definition: is a vector quantity that is defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object is accelerating if it is changing its velocity.
-Equation:

Ave. acceleration= velocity/time = vf-vi / tf-ti
-After 4 second he's going 28 m/s/s
Part II
1. -Whatever characteristics the velocity has, the slope will exhibit the same (and vice versa).
-The velocity would increase too.
2.
The slope equation says that the slope of a line is found by determining the amount of rise of the line between any two points divided by the amount of run of the line between the same two points. In other words,
  • Pick two points on the line and determine their coordinates.
  • Determine the difference in y-coordinates of these two points (rise).
  • Determine the difference in x-coordinates for these two points (run).
  • Divide the difference in y-coordinates by the difference in x-coordinates (rise/run or slope)
 3.
-The principle is that the slope of the line on a velocity-time graph reveals useful information about the acceleration of the object.
-If the acceleration is zero, then the slope is zero (i.e., a horizontal line). If the acceleration is positive, then the slope is positive (i.e., an upward sloping line). If the acceleration is negative, then the slope is negative (i.e., a downward sloping line). This very principle can be extended to any conceivable motion.
Part III

1.
A free falling object is an object that is falling under the sole influence of gravity. Any object that is being acted upon only by the force of gravity is said to be in a state of free fall. There are two important motion characteristics that are true of free-falling objects:

-Free-falling objects do not encounter air resistance.
-All free-falling objects (on Earth) accelerate downwards at a rate of 9.8 m/s/s (often approximated as 10 m/s/s for back-of-the-envelope calculations

Racer Recommendations

Things that went well:
I think a lot of things went well during the project, we had a different challenge to learned how to build a mousetrap vehicle.
At first our vehicle could run 2 meters, but we made some changes and finally it was able to run 4 meters and we are very pleased with it, but in the drag race it was pretty good our vehicle was the fastest and we won.
Future Recommendations:
I would recommended to be very open with their ideas and share with the team, in the materials that you can use to build the vehicle I could tell that the wood is the best choice for the chassis, you can use different wheel's sizes and  probably the axle it would be the hardest one.

Post-Race Reflection

When we did the distance performance it was not really good, the mousetrap vehicle ran 4 meters and sometimes below, but in the drag race the vehicle was the fastest so we won the competition.
The design of the vehicle it was really good but for me i would put bigger wheels to the back and medium ones in the front so it could balance the vehicle. I think i would do a bigger one with different wheel's type and size.

Mousetrap Vehicle on Test Day

1. Our mousetrap vehicle works with effectiveness it goes forward all the time.We need to work out in the durability, at the first try it only ran until 2 or 3 meters, but then we changed the wheels and it goes a little bit farther, I think the design it's pretty good and very easy to use.

2. Actually the path of our vehicle it was always forward so we did not have any problems with it.
3. The distance always has been 3 or 4 meters and when it was the test day it ran a little bit more than 4 meters.
4.They were a few modifications in our vehicle, the wheels were to smaller for the vehicle so we used medium ones, the chassis it was to long so we cut it down.

Mousetrap vechile

I think the hardest part of the projector would be the wheels and find the perfect material for the chassis, the vehicle has to travel 10 meters minimum, being powered only by a mousetrap.
